Departmental Activities :
The Panchayat Raj Engineering Department (PRED) is an Engineering Wing of PR & RD Department. The objective of PRED is to design, execute and maintain needed Infrastructure facilities in rural areas for the economic development of rural people in Andhra Pradesh. It develops infrastructure facilities in the rural areas under various programs sponsored by Government of India, Government of Andhra Pradesh & other agencies, like MGNREGS,PMGSY ,World Bank etc. Improving the quality of life for rural people through new connectivity, upgradation of roads and construction of building. To provide Connectivity to the habitations under SCP and TSP grants, which are ineligible under PMGSY. The objective is to provide all weather road connectivity to all habitations of population above 500 in plain areas and 250 + in agency area of Andhra Pradesh to ensure villagers quick reach to medical centers during emergencies and that the agricultural produce to reach market centers for realising appropriate valuation to their hard work. Main programmes being executed by the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department is follows,

6) MGNREGS convergence programme ie construction of Gram Sachivalayam buildings, RBK (Agriculture produce collection centres) ,Wellness centres(health clinics) ,Bulk milk centres, Digital Libraries
7) Anganwadi Buildings(NABARD RIDF) and Anganwadi buildings (MGNREGS convergence.)

Brief notes on State Govt. schemes implemented:
The main programmes being implemented under state government programme are as detailed below
- Connectivity to unconnected habitations or upgradation of habitations by providing road connectivity under APRIs for PRR (plain) ,PRR (SC), and PRR ( STC) grant.
- Maitenance of Rural Roads
- Providing road connectivity by upgradation of Roads to BT standards under Upgradation of NREGS grant, and Reconstruction of Rural roads grants, etc.
- SDF grant , ZPGF
- MGNREGS convergence with state funds of ZPGF ,G.P funds etc ,under this programme state government priority buildings are being taken up like construction of Gram Sachivalayam buildings, RBK (Agriculture produce collection centres) ,Wellness centres (health clinic), Bulk milk collection centres, Digital Libraries

Under MGNREGS convergence programme 396 Grama Sachivalayam buildings are taken up ,so far 102 buildings completed.
